SAHA/Kory Paries Memorial Tournament

Kory James Paries

Born: May 18, 1986 in Calgary Alberta Canada into a family that loved hockey.

He is the third son of Randy and Kelly Paries. His brothers are Kyle Kameron and Kris.

Kory was involved with Huntsville Amateur Hockey Association since he moved to Huntsville Alabama in July of 1990.

He started to play hockey in the termite league at 4 yrs old. He was very proud of his hat trick he had at the UAH Chargers game as a termite and wore his red braves hat for many years. He was a very fast skater. At the time of his passing on December 23, 2002. He was a defenseman with the Midget travel team. He enjoyed many years playing with his brothers and being coached by his father as hockey was a "Family Affair."

Kory was a very strong element to the Midget team. He was slow to anger but very effective. Kory was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was actively involved. He attended Early morning Seminary at 6:15am every school day for his high school years.

He was a junior at Sparkman High School were he carried a 4.0 gpa and was on the High honor roll, and Stars Mentor. Kory also played on the Sparkman HS Team.

Kory was known for his good looks, sense of humor and compassion he had for others. He had a great love for children and animals. He wanted to become a doctor.
